Ghost and Mysteries of Paris

The Catacombs Paris

While not particularly a Halloween place, you’ll get chills walking through the Catacombs. This hair-raising tourist site hold the skeletons of some 6 million Parisians.
It is because the Cemetery of the Innocents (Cimetière des Innocents, which was close to the St Eustache Church in the First District of Paris) was turning into a source of infections for the inhabitants of the neighborhood, that’s why the State Council of 1785 decided to evacuate the cemetery and all bones and remains were moved to old quarries, the Catacombs.
Now, now you can find and see millions of bones on the series of winding tunnels measures over 2 kilometers long.
The Asterix Park
In the North of Paris, find the Parc Asterix, the second-largest theme park in France! Discover the famous Gallic Village of Astérix and Obélix from the comic of R. Gosciny. For the events this park is transformed into a hauted village with a whole variety of nightmarish monsters.
For the Halloween celebration the entire park is transformed so enjoy two weeks of Halloween atmosphere and meet some witches, giant spider web…
The Halloween Parade in Limoges
Since 1996, Limoges has staged an annual Halloween parade, a special parade on October 31. There you will find ghosts, goblins, and carry candlelit pumpkins through the streets. Local restaurants, cafes, and bars enter into the spirit of the festival with waiters dressed up. And there are street shows and parties. Each year the city attract from 30.000 to 50.000 visitors.
